Eccleshall RUFC is a local village rugby club, with a strong ethos around community and inclusivity for people of all ages, from Pre School all the way to Veterans. Optima Have been a proud sponsor of the club for many years and focus specifically on helping provide playing kits enabling the Junior section to play fixtures in club colours, taking the cost away from the parents. Optima feel the ethos of 'Kids First Rugby' teaches young people valuable lessons based around Team Work, Respect for others, Enjoyment being with friends, Discipline and Sportsmanship, giving them the tools to help them navigate growing up and becoming adults.
During the pandemic in 2020, Sir Graham Balfour High School, Stafford put out an appeal for laptops to help families by giving them the resources to access online lessons and additional resources during Homeschooling. After donating all of Optima Warehouse Solutions surplus to requirements equipment, we worked with Eccleshall RUFC to set up the local appeal 'Laptops for School Kids'. We promoted the campaign using social media and after many socially distanced collections we managed to collect enough devices for the school to provide one to each family in need, an achievement we are very proud of.
Since 2002 our local High School has been raising money to fund a primary school in Chi Phat, Koh Kong Province, Cambodia. The School is committed to providing every pupil with exercise books and stationary as well as teaching resources, classroom furniture, sports and playground equipment along with paying for the Cambodia School to have electricity. Every two years a team of 6 Form students travel to Cambodia for a life changing experience, spending time in the community with the children and visiting the school to teach a range of lessons that they themselves have created. In 2024 Optima helped by sponsoring the 6 form students to go on the trip and this is something we have committed to continuing in the future.
